Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the fee. Delegates are recommended to book rooms at the Hilton Milton Keynes Hotel. The cost of a room per night with breakfast is: £85 for a single and £95 for a twin (Open University rates). Please quote reference code GOPES when you make your booking.

The hotel is opposite the University campus. However, to walk from the Hotel to the University you need to go round the main hotel building. It will take a good 10 minutes to arrive at the Michael Young building, where the talks will be held. The campus map shows in green the route from the hotel entrance to the main University entrance. Notice that there is an underpass to cross Brick Hill Street. Access to the Meeting Rooms will be provided from 12:00 on the 15 April and 9:00 on the 16 April. If you arrive at the Open University earlier, there is a waiting area and a cafe in the Berrill building.

Travel

From nearby airports (Luton / Heathrow / Gatwick / Stansted / Birmingham) to Milton Keynes

The easiest way to get from the Coachway to the Open University is to take a taxi. The journey should be 10-15 minutes. From the Milton Keynes Central train station:
1. The following regular buses will take you into the Open University campus: number 12, running at 21 and 51 minutes past the hour; number 20/20A, running at 8AM, 9AM and then at 30 minutes past the hour. The journey takes 20-30 minutes and the single ticket is £1.70. Both buses depart from stop 34 outside the train station.
2. The Open University runs a shuttle service at 8:50, 9:35 and 10:15 (the afternoon service departs from the campus at 16:30 and 17:10). The journey takes 15-10 minutes and the ticket is £1.00. This service also departs from stop 34.
3. Taxis: there is a taxi rank at the train station. The journey to the University takes about 10-15 minutes and costs around £10. Alternatively, mini-cab companies will pick you up at the station and bring you to the Open University for around £7. Their phone numbers are: 01908 222 111 (Skyline) and 01908 22 222 (Raffles). Ask the driver to take you to the Berrill building (main reception).
